A project put together by initially by Dave Bunday, solely for the purpose of playing at the Rock & Rhythm contest. Dave was studying at the College in Camborne at the time, naming the band after Trevenson Road, which led to the college, hence the name. Members were from all over Cornwall and were performing in different bands.
The band played a cover of Shake (with two drummers). After the first number Dave was performing so energetically that he had to physically nail his kit to the floor! They also played either Bits & Pieces or Glad all Over by the Dave Clark Five.
Despite only rehearsing once or twice they were still placed third. Unfortunately the band’s speakers were partly covered by the stage curtains, muffling their sound. They were told they probably would have won had it not been for this.
The band even received booking requests after the competition. Dusty the manager at the Blue Lagoon told them they were exactly the type of band he was looking for. Not being a real band they couldn't take up any of the offers through!
The band was resurected again in 1969 with a slightly different line-up for that year's Rock & Rhythm Contest. Again they only performed at the contest and did not gig as a proper band as all members had other band commitments. |
