A (very) short lived band formed specifically for the 1965 Rock and Rhythm contest, while members were between bands. Usually the winner from the previous years competition would perform in a guest slot, however the winners from the previous year were unavailable.

3 and a Bit were formed only a matter of a day before the contest to fill the slot and enter the contest. The band still managed to secured 3rd place in the competition, with a cover of Love Potion No.9. They disbanded straight afterwards without playing any other gigs. Tony Priest joined Rick and The Hayseeds shortly afterwards, which sowed the seeds for the formation of The Onyx.
