Mitch & Viv were friends at Falmouth Grammar School. The pair would get together and play Chuck Berry & Stones covers. Pete Petrowski heard them rehearsing in the old Ship & Castle Pub in Church Street and asked to join a band with him. Noel Bray was then brought in to play rhythm.
Pete got bookings through a Bodmin based agency (BCD) and was kept busy for the eighteen months they were together, playing all the major Cornish venues: Princess Pavilion, TA Drill Hall Falmouth, Penryn Town Hall, Bodmin Jail, Penzance Barn Club, Penzance Winter Gardens. They also played St Austell, Truro, St Mawes, St Just, Portscatho, Camborne, Hayle, as well as the many Youth Clubs & Village Halls all over the county.
Mitch Fenner left in October 1964 to go to University in Cardiff. Rod Good (Jeanny & the Spectres) took over on guitar and the band lasted for another year before Rod also left the band.
One memorial gig was took place at Constantine Village Hall. A jealous boyfriend took an axe to the band’s extension lead cable while his mate climbed into the rafters and poured a bucket of water down on Viv Robertson!
Viv & Mitch teamed up again in 2002 with Al Toms (from Danny’s Passion) and still gig as BluesTalk.
