Jester - Turn Around
When they left school the band changed its name to The Jester Band and were joined by Brian Payne on keyboards. They took up a lot of summer season work in hotels and on the cabaret circuit. They also had a residency in the Elizabethan Suite at Newquay’s Pentire Hotel, The Kontiki and The Grantham Astor. Each member would turn up to the gigs in their own cars, driven by their fathers!

Alan Ibbotson somehow managed to get his drum kit in an Hillman Imp and later in an even smaller Terry Terrains A35! Brian would arrive in a Mark 1 Triumph Spitfire with the amp in the boot and the boot lid up.
They were in constant demand from social clubs and hunt balls. Kevin was a talented bass player, picking out difficuly riffs such as 'I Wish' or 'Radar Love'.
Around 1981 after many gigs and laughs, they had become a successful but finally disbursed and all went in different musical directions. Brian went pro in 1982 and travelled around Europe and the Middle East doing the Piano Bar Circuit.
