Starting out as many bands did at the time, as a group of school friends. The band starting life at Penryn Seconary Modern School.  The band came together in from front room of Alan Blackett’s house, no doubt much to the annoyance of his neighbours! Luckily most of them had teenage kids themselves, many of whom used to come and check out the band as they rehearsed.

The band’s first gig took place at the Welfare Hall, Penryn to an invited audience. The bands populality soon began to grow and they gigs around the local area soon followed including Penryn Rugby Club, Conservative & Liberal Clubs and Swanvale, Falmouth, Playing Place, St Keverne Youth Clubs, the Drill Hall Falmouth and Welfare Hall, Penryn. The band would also some of the counties larger venues, including the Winter Gardens, Barn Club and the Blue Shark Club. They would also venture further North, playing Satlash Boys Club and into Plymouth playing the Naafi Club.

The band also had the opportunity to support some of the big names of the day as they made their way through Cornwall, including DDDBMT, Merseybeats, Fourmost, Zombies, Fleur De Lys and The Betterdays.

They soon became a very popular band around the Falmouth area and were supporting many of the big name bands at the Princess Pavillion. They also competed in the 1965, 1966 and 1967 Rock and Rhythm contests.

Know originally as Geoff and the Climates, when Geoff left the band to be replaced by Greg, they became known simply as The Climates (also known as Climates [Time, Soul and Motion]). Geoff would later rejoin, but Greg remained in the band, giving them two lead singers, which was quite unusual at the time and quite unique within the Cornish bands.

They played many of the hits of the day, including The Merseys, Cliff Richard, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Animals, etc. Their favourite style however was Tamla Soul.

There was a falling out over a name change with some personnel in the band and Greg and Mickey would leave to join The Passion.
