The Vikings started out as the Live Jives (band members were Tony Grenville, Bunny Thomas, Peter
Grenville, Tinky Moyle, Peter Benbow and Brenda Polkinhorne) and their first appearance was at a groups contest held at the Grand Cinema in Falmouth. They placed 3rd behind The Imperials and Manny Cockle and the Six Squares.
The Vikings were regulars at The Flamingo, where they backed Acker Bilk, Kenny Ball, Humphrey Littleton, John Barry Seven and Eric Delaney.
The band would morph into The Staggerlees. |
