We played The Wintergardens in the middle 70s. This was the time when there was a great deal of trouble, we had played Fraddon Village Hall were the week after the band were attacked and hospitalised, the thugs were jailed. We had also played Barn in Penzance on a regular basis. Back to the Wints, we arrived in Penzance and bought the local paper, I believe by now the name had changed to Demelzas, we read very worrying reports of violence so that night we played each of us with one of the four legs of our keyboard strapped to mike stands in case of being "got at".
We played that evening surpassing our expectations.
