Toddle Inn

Location:

Newquay

Located between Fore St Car park and the South Quay Hill, set back from the road.

Starting life as a Cafe, it was a small downstairs venue that only served soft drinks and the odd snack of mushrooms on toast. It was kept scrupulously clean and was owned and run by Mr Kaye, who’s idea was to give the local teens somewhere safe to hang out.

The lighting was low, but not dark, and there was a small dance floor in the centre.

It became more popular as the years went by and you often had to queue to get in, although locals were always given priority.
