John Challingsworth remembers the 1966 contest;

"Played at the Rock and Roll Rhythm Contest at the Flamingo about 1966 with my group Dannys Passion. We were well on the way to winning until an up country group who happened to be just passing decided to ask if the could enter. We had 30 watt WEM amps and they had 50 watt Marshall amps. We were blown off the stage."
