Mainly used for Films and Bingo, it was used on occasion for bands rather than dances.
Bill Tonkin from Cellophane Cloud remembers The Ritz;
"I remember the Ritz as a cinema, many years ago. Saturday mornings was A.B.C minors which I attended, as usual when taken over there was more money in the new "Fad" bingo, after the Bingo had finished they put on entertainment, sometimes music hall (myself Drums) backing a lovely woman pianist from st just called Joan, I remember Terry Hamilton and Ricky Barnes also entertained, sometimes a magician others a hypnotist. Sadly even that has disappeared"
