Bude Summer Carnival in 1965

Generation X were based in Bude and played throughout Cornwall and Devon, including The Flamingo in Camborne and The Barn and The Winter Gardens in Penzance . The band also did a lot of local North Cornwall venues like the RDC Centre at Camelford, Launceston Town Hall and most of the music venues at the time.

Originally formed as ‘Terry and the Twighlights’ with local well known singer Terry Bale fronting the band, they had a successful summer season at the Globe Hotel in Bude, with an evening recorded by Westcountry Television in the style of the 'Stars and Garters' television programme, which was very popular at the time.

Terry then left, and the band remained as a four piece band, playing rock and blues and doing mostly covers of the day, Beatles, Stones, Chuck Berry etc and were known for their close harmonies.
