A highly successful covers band. Four Wheel Drive were on the books with BCD Entertainment, who secured them plenty of gigs around Cornwall in the late 60s/early 70s. The band would play places such as Padstow’s Rosehill Country Club, Blisland Village Hall, St Austell Youth Centre, Bodmin Town Hall, Hayle’s Garison Club and Penmare Hotel. They also performed with a stripper at Looe’s Blue Shark Club!

They also played in a bill with The Sweet, who at the time only had one original song (“Funny Funny”). The rest of the set was made up of the same covers performed just earlier by Four Wheel Drive.

They also had a Wednesday night residency at the Headland in Bude, where they supported such names as Hot Chocolate, The Searchers, Marmalade, The Foundations and The Move. It was not uncommon for visiting bands to play Bude on Wednesday, Blue Lagoon on Thursday, The Flamingo on Friday and Saturday at the Winter Gardens so often the band would end up supporting a visiting band several times at week at different venues.
